WHEN: TUESDAY, APRIL 27TH BEGINNING AT 8:15

STUDENTS SHOULD:

WEAR TENNIS SHOES (NO SANDALS OR CROCS)

BRING A WATER BOTTLE WITH THEIR NAME ON IT

SUNSCREEN

DO NOT BRING A BACKPACK ON THIS DAY!!!!

AFTER FIELD DAY ENDS, STUDENTS MAY LEAVE WITH A PARENT AFTER CHECKING OUT WITH THEIR HOMEROOM TEACHER.

March!

 How can it be March already? This year is going so fast! We are still working hard in 3rd grade!

Reading: This week, we will spiral back to nonfiction text, including author’s purpose, text structure, text features and genre for nonfiction. We will have lots of activities to strengthen mastery of this type of text. We are very excited to see how the students do on a gallery walk! We will have a student created vocabulary test, using words from our Interactive Read Aloud, using narrative nonfiction text. (3.3A-print or digital resources,3.3B- multiple meaning words, 3.3C-prefix, suffix, 3.7B write literary response , 3.9D i, ii,iii informational text (text features), 3.10A author’s purpose, 3.10B text structure

Writing: We are continuing with our Kindness Actions writing composition. The students are doing an amazing job with this writing! No spelling test this week. (3.11A,B,C,D,E (writing process), 3.12C compose persuasive composition)

Social Studies: We are continuing our study on how kindness can effect our community and those around us. (3.12B-improve the community)

Spelling and Vocabulary

Please remember we will have a spelling and vocabulary quiz on Friday! Spelling words are written in the planner and vocabulary words are in the homework folder.
Read 20 minutes each night and record on Reading Log.
Also, send a water bottle to school everyday.
